"Excellent service"

About: St Thomas' Hospital / Accident and emergency

My dad was taken to St Thomas yesterday via an ambulance. My dad suffers from AF and PH medical terms for Heart failure. That was not the issue yesterday, but he kept being sick, pale, sweating, he was well cared for in the ambulance giving him a drug to stop the sickness, unfortunately that did not help. Once in the A&E again my dad was taking care by nurses and doctors from the minute he arrived, who put him on a drip and gave him a different drug for his sickness. (Which helped)

He was later Taken up to the east wing to be monitored, by other nurses and doctors and consulting staff.

He had lots of blood tests, was examined many times and questions of his ability at home.

I just wanted to say a big thank you (his daughter who was in attendance at the time) and my mum who came later, to all staff that took real care and understanding of my dads needs.

It’s unfortunate that the NHS get a bad name at times. Which is not the case. Keep the excellent service up. I feel quiet a few people that turn up at A&E could have been seen by their own GP or walk in clinic. Thank you again.

Thank you for your comments. It is really good to hear that you felt that you Dad was well looked after right from his arrival at A&E through to admission to the ward. We will pass you comments on to the teams involved.
