I gave birth two weeks ago, I was admitted for an induction, ward 18 staff were amazing and so were the midwives at labour ward, I had a forceps and ventouse delivery, also had a two degree teat and cut due to last min complications, everything went so well I couldn’t have asked for better staff and doctors who acted quick, once I came to the recovery ward I started to get contractions again, the pain was unbearable,my midwife had gone on her break and someone else came to cover her break, I was screaming in pain and that lady looked at me and ignored me,then came and said calm down why you screaming,I tried to explain I’m getting contractions again! I have no pain relief,I was holding my daughter so I asked that lady kindly if she can put my daughter down for me as I’m in so much pain, she turned and said what?! Your partner can do that!! Bare in mind I’ve just come out of theatre,Im all sore and vulnerable,it’s my first baby! I tried to tell her something is wrong but she wasn’t interested, she went to get me Codine, mean while my midwife came in to get some papers and saw me in agony screaming for help, so she said you need Doctors something isn’t right, and went to get the doctor! That lady came back with codine and I told her my midwife has gone to get Doctors and she said what for!?? I said because I’m in so much pain! So she said fair enough and walked out! Ah that moment I cried over how rude, heartless someone can be!! Anyway the Doctors Came rushing gave me pain killers gave me gas and air and examined me to make sure all is ok,once settled I felt a lot better! Like I said the actual maternity staff was amazing! That’ one horrible lady ruined my whole experience! I have contacted pals and will get this matter sorted!
"Great experience but one incident changed it all"
