"South West London Recovery College"

About: Community mental health services / Recovery College

(as a service user),

I've been attending a number of different courses at the Recovery College  since Summer 2017 and just wanted to say what an utterly brilliant resource it it is.

I have struggled with anxiety and episodes of depression for over 20 years and this is the first time I have had access to something that really helps me to understand and take control.
The combination of clinician and peer trainers seems to be very successful. I found peer-trainer Gina  inspirational and supportive on the Toolkits for Recovery course that I have just comleted.
It is great to be able to reattend courses and not feel that the end of a course marks the end of treatment.
I haven't accessed the Recovery Cafe yet but I really appreciate the availability of this resource and feel I would use it as a first choice for help if I started to feel really low and suicidal again.

Dear Lady Aardvark

My name is Farai and I am the Engagement & Experience Co-ordinator for the Trust.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story about your experience at the Recovery College and for the endorsement. It is a brilliant resource and I am pleased to read that you have had the opportunity to use the Recovery College. I am glad that you have found it to be a great benefit to your mental health and that you are also aware of other services like the Recovery Café that the Trust has to help support you in the community. I will pass these positive comments about the trainers to the Recovery College Manager so that they are aware.

I wish you all the best on your recovery journey.

Kind regards

Farai
