I’ve seen one doctor and 2 nurses while being at this clinic since late, late December 2017.
They’ve all been very helpful, kind and understanding of me as a transgender patient.
Even when an online pharmacy screwed up my injectable testosterone one of the receptionists went above and beyond her duty of care and phoned around clinics to see if any of them had a spare. She did not have to do that but I’m forever thankful as I got my injection on time.
My regular nurse is chirpy and lovely every time I see her (every 4 weeks), she understands my needs and medical problems. She talks through my injections and even comments on how well my treatment is going and it perks my day up every time. She goes at my pace and we’re both teaching each other things, she teaches me how and where to do my injection and I teach her about transitioning. It’s always a lovely time while there.
Before joining I was at AH, who completely refused to do anything for me, they refused testing for PCOS at 14/15 and refused 5 times over a year period to do my testosterone injections; delaying my transition and worsening my mental health. Lister House took me straight on and had no problem with me being transgender or mentally ill.
The only problem with Lister House is getting in contact with them, but they already know about this problem. Don’t let that hold you back from joining.
I’ve gotten my brother to switch to Lister House as he’s realised how wonderful they are.
"Incredible practise with slight drawbacks"
