I had telephoned for some advice, & either a telephone consultation or an appointment; after a brief description of the problem, I was asked to go to WHS that afternoon.
After arriving , & whilst waiting I was seen by a member of staff who came round to ask how I was doing & what had been happening to me. Which was very nice as I have been a patient there since it opened, & before that.
Then fortunately I was seen by a doctor, who listened to me, looked, & then discussed what we could do to ease the problem. He was aware of my recent hospital history by the discussion, & my knowledge of it; plus the other problems I now have! Suggestions were made, & it was so good to be treated like a human being with a brain, & some medical knowledge, not just a person in a wheelchair.
But there again the doctor always treated my Mother as person not just another patient when she was ill.
If I have rung for a telephone consultation I have been lucky for it to have sorted without the need for an appointment.
I also attended Shenstone for a blood test, the following week, & was greeted, whilst there I notified the receptionist about my choice to join the Nurture CKR study at SJUH, details were taken & put on my notes.
Then the member of staff had the delight of taking my blood samples prior to my forthcoming hospital appointment.
My recent visits have been to see another member of staff, who has taken great care, & tried her best to help. All the partners & most of the Doctors have taken me & my problems seriously.
Even to ringing up for a repeat prescription problem has been sorted out by explaining the problem, & being out through to the right person.
The same with hospital referrals, etc.
It is wonderful to contact or visit the surgeries & be treated very well.
Long may it continue. Thank you all.
"Very well treated on a recent appointment at WHS."
