I have Schizophrenia and yesterday I was unable to see a doctor to explain to me why I was not being given repeat prescription as normal. Without my tablets I could end up being hospitalised again at much greater cost to the NHS?
The surgery had a letter from my Psychiatrist stating what medication I am taking, yet paid no attention to it. I was actually given a script for some tablets I take for intolerable side-effects for a 7 day supply which without I get uncontrollable movements in my body?
After making a fuss, I got a 14 day supply of those and a 28 day supply of my Anti-Psychotics. No repeat prescription was given to me and the one I have from before is for the wrong doses, as made clear in my consultant letter they have changed.
I Appreciate the surgery is under a lot of pressure, but I am too. I work 4 days a week in another town despite my illness and I do not need the additional stress of not being able to get a simple prescription?
If I had any kind of a relationship with a doctor at this surgery this would not have happened. This has caused me a lot of stress and things like this trigger my symptoms and it took me all night to calm down about this.
Had there been a way to make this complaint directly this wouldn't have had to have been done so publicly.
