Absolutly disgusted with QMC.
My wife was admitted here when she broke her back. Few days later she has an operation, few days after she gets discharged and told to come back in 2 weeks for an xray.
No aftercare whatsoever, didn’t arrange for community nurse or anything. Just simply discharged see you in 2 weeks. I had to guess on how to change her dressings, and learn how to bed bath her without hurting her.
Simply no support whatsoever.
Her legs started to swell up so called GP out to see her, he suspected DVT so called for an ambulance and left. 4 hours later ambulance affived and took us to QMC for about 10:30pm its now 5:40am and she’s still sat in her wheelchair. She has been seen by an ED who admitted not knowing what wrong. And now waiting for a bed to be ready.
During this whole ordeal I have not been told anything by anyone. I’m getting bits of information from my wife who was high on morphine most of the time. I didn’t know she nearly died on the operating table and had to have a blood transfusion. I only got told that from my wife when she was discharged.
Totally disgusted about this hospital.
