"Endoscopy Unit"

About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

Arrived in plenty of time for my 1.30pm appointment only to be left sitting in an overcrowded, inadequate waiting area for TWO HOURS.

Not helped that the air conditioning was broken and patients sit in a corridor with no windows whilst staff wheel trolleys and wheelchairs past.

When I asked one of the nurses (a Sister possibly) how much longer I'd have to wait she said, rather casually, maybe ANOTHER HOUR!

At this point I walked out.

The staff seemed under pressure with insufficient resources to manage the number of appointments made.

They suggest you take something to read - I did - a newspaper but when I'd read the whole thing I started looking around at the brown stained ceiling tiles and grubby walls.

This is not a hospital I'd recommend to anyone for an Outpatient's appointment.

Scruffy poorly maintained building with lots of sitting around in cramped and uncomfortable waiting areas. In future I'll ask my GP to refer me somewhere else.
