I was recently taken to A and E at Worcester Royal Hospital. It was about 10pm I was diagnosed as having a T.I.A.(mini stroke). The treatment I received was excellent. The triage nurse assessed me immediately, I was given an E.C.G. I was given a C.T. scan and I had blood tests.
The following day I was given an appointment in the morning and was seen by Dr Baldwin and his assistants. I had a further Dopler test and a medical examination. A variety of tablets were prescribed for me and my situation was explained in a clear and straight forward manner.
On the night/early morning the care that I was given was second to none. The staff on duty were brilliant. The triage nurse dealt with me with great speed, The nurses were caring, a young doctor from Bury ,Manchester put me at great ease and both the porter and male nurse who did my E.C.G had a great sense of humour and were efficient yet put me at ease. I was given a C.T. scan almost immediately.
I cannot praise the staff on duty highly enough and I thought it right that I should bring this to your attention. The N.H.S. and your hospital have received negative coverage in the media and my experience was nothing like the way in which the media portrays the hospital.
I would be grateful if you could find time to share this with the staff involved on shift that night and the next morning so that they are aware that their expertise, their care and compassion is recognised. i felt that i was given the best care possible
