My 4 year old
Son attended the children’s a&e department following a fall with a suspected broken arm and from the moment we arrived we had excellent service.
We were shown straight to a room, he was triaged and given a sling and some painkillers.
He was then quickly assessed by a very caring and empathetic doctor who managed to assess the arm very gently and was very patient as my son was reluctant to move it in any way.
We then visited X-ray and following this we were quickly reviewed. (This was all despite the department being very busy) There were a few queries about the break so we needed to wait and see if our son needed to go to theatre. The ortho-on-call was excellent; providing very detailed information and explained everything thoroughly. Thankfully we were allowed home with a review the following morning.
The nurses were amazing including the student who was extremely helpful. They showed great care and compassion. My son loves his bravery certificate.
The following day we were seen in the trauma clinic and again this was great, the consultant and the plaster technician were excellent. We are 4 weeks down the line and I cannot fault the service we received.
Whilst all departments were was busy, I feel the service provided was amazing.
Long live the NHS!
We are very grateful and extremely lucky to have such an amazing NHS in the UK.
"Our Outstanding NHS!"
