In my honest opinion the staff are in need of further training. Let’s start with the positives:-
Great facilities, loads to do for children on the ward we were on M2 and the play therapists try their best to entertain the kids.
However the lack of understanding or compassion in relation to children with learning difficulties needs improving. Communication between staff is diabolical. Some of the nurses are great yet some laugh all night and show little compassion. They struggled to deal with the simplest of issues whilst my child was on the ward such as nasal congestion causing further problems.
It is evident they do not want parents to stay overnight and the facilities to support parents over night stays is awful which is surprising giving that they would greatly struggle to look after a child and do their jobs, moreso one with a disability.
Overall we had a terrible experience
"Awful experience"
