"Student Nurse"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Geriatric Assessment

(as a relative),

A few months ago our dad was admitted to Station 16 at Ayr Hospital following a stroke.   During his time there, the care from one student nurse stood out - I believe her name is Michelle.   Michelle took so much time with all the patients, spending time with them, reassuring them, some gentle humour when needed and was amazing with our family and helping with the many questions we had. During what was a very difficult time, her care and patience made the world of difference to our dad and to the family as a whole.     MIchelle may no longer be in the same ward or may be back at university now but we would like to publically  acknowledge our thanks to her and let her know how much she was appreciated

Dear MadMax

Thank you for your feedback regarding Student Nurse Michelle and the positive impact she had on your father and yourselves at a very difficult time.

It is particularly meaningful as Student Nurses are not always recognised when we receive feedback from patients and families.

I am sure that Student Nurse Michelle will be delighted when she receives your feedback and I will ask the Senior Charge Nurse to feed this back via the University.

Best wishes

John
