"The support of my key worker has really helped"

About: Inclusion Visions Thurrock (Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service)

(as a service user),

I attended these meetings due to my drinking excessively and also binge drinking.

I have been attending various meetings for the last 18 months. And have helped me in many ways to stay clean for 6 months and 3 months clean time.

The problem was that I stopped going to meetings and thought I could be a social/casual drinker but always once I had a few drinks I could not stop.

Keep going back and with the support of my key workers and other addicts has really helped reduce my addiction. I am now currently in rehab in Sheffield with support from the Amy Winehouse Foundation - called phoenix futures

Regards

Hello there

It sounds like you have been learning a lot and putting hard work in to make positive changes for yourself. Good to hear the meetings have been so helpful and that the support of your keyworker and peers has made a difference.

Thanks for sharing your story and I wish you all the best for your time in rehab and beyond

Emer
