"Two recent visits to SASH"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency East Surrey Hospital / Urology Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead) / Plastic surgery

(as the patient),

1. Last month I attended A&E because I had cut my thumb the previous Saturday and was worried that the tendon was severed. I had not had the correct diagnoses at another hospital the day I sustained the injury. I was seen by a very capable and understanding nurse who agreed that the injury looked more severe than the other hospital had considered. He secured me an appointment at QVH in East Grinstead the following day as a a result of which I had an operation there to repair the severed tendon the day after. The nature of the injury meant that the repair had to be carried out within a week of the damage occurring. The help and diligence of this excellent nurse at SASH means I will not have a disability in my right hand.

2. I attended the Urology investigation department this month for a cystoscopy investigation. The doctor and her colleagues were very friendly and professional. I was well cared for and informed clearly at each stage.
