In May 2018 I was in my greenhouse making things easy for the watering of my hanging baskets which were sitting on top of pots when I caught my leg on one which was made of bark. I thought nothing more about it till it stopped me sleeping. At 4.30 I took myself to A&E ( as was due to go away in morning) eventually got seen although it didn't appear to be busy.
The Dr I saw listened to what I told them, but was quite positive there was nothing in my leg although I was sure I could feel something there, they pressed it but said nothing there, I have a quite high pain threshold but said it was painful.
So I was given a Tetanus jab and even an X-ray, they looked at it but still said there was nothing there. I had some Antibiotics and went home.
Kept the wound covered whilst away, and despite it being swollen and uncomfortable carried on, when I changed the dressing each day there was puss coming out each time.
Till 5 days later when I was cleaning it I could still feel something hard and pressed a bit more went and got some tweezers sterilized them and pulled a piece of wood out which is about 1.5 cms long. It is now much better, but itches like mad. The question I ask is should it have shown up on an X-ray ? some friends say yes others say no.
"Should this have shown up on an X-ray?"
