"Avoid! Uncaring and useless!"

About: Monkwearmouth Health Centre

I was moved to this doctors surgery when my doctors surgery was shut down. My baby son was never offered a six week check up! I rang up and my baby finally received his 6 week check up when he was 14 weeks. No apologies from gp who dismissed the whole thing said it wasnt the surgerys fault. The doctor looked over my baby and then sat down logged into my details and proceeded to take items i have been proscribed by professionals higher than them off my prescription. The doctor had never met me before as every time you visit this surgery youre fobbed off with a locome. I also persuaded my brother to see the doctor about a very personal medical condition he refuses to talk about or see a gp about. After months of persuasions i finally got him there. Then this awful doctor completely dismissed him their uncaring attitude is disgusting.

The doctor is not a people person in the slightest. Avoid this place like the plague. Needless to say changing doctors surgerys. Im not surprised by the bad reviews. I dont normally leave reviews or take notice of peoples negative comments. But this doctor is so bad it needs to be mentioned

I understand that the Practice you were registered with was subject to closure in November 2016.

At that time NHS England had the choice of either dispersing the list which would have resulted in all of the patients at the Practice having to find a new GP at extremely short notice or find another Practice to take responsibility on a temporary basis until a more permanent solution was found.

Dr Gellia & Dr Balaraman agreed to take responsibility for the Practice as a whole and I believe this was communicated to all patients giving them the choice of moving with the Practice to Monkwearmouth or seek alternative registration elsewhere.

The past few months have been extremely difficult and challenging for both Patients and Staff.

I am sorry that you have had a bad experience at our Practice, if you would like to contact us and discuss this further we would be happy to do so.
