What I liked
My mother, who is 89 and has dementia, was admitted to Dewsbury Hospital with a suspected DVT. She was treated in A & E, where she was sent for a scan and diagnosed with a DVT. Then she was sent to the Medical Assessment Unit, Ward 10 and Ward 9. In all of these areas she was treated with respect and kindness. We as relatives were also treated politely and kindly with staff going out of their way to help us locate where my mother was and keep us informed of treatment. They telephoned us when she changed wards and we did not feel uncomfortable asking for information about her care. We could not have asked for better treatment for my mother who was in hospital for a total of one week.
"Could not have been better."
