"Still waiting to be seen"

About: Southlands Medical Group

(as the patient),

It took about 3 weeks to get an appointment with my doctor. When I saw him I was referred to the hospital and told to expect to hear from them soon.

After a few weeks my condition was worsening and I still hadn’t heard back so I rang my surgery. They checked and said the original referral had been ‘overlooked’ and was told they have a lot of new patients to cater for! This is no excuse in my view.

It’s now 3 months since my symptoms started and I’m still waiting to be seen. I’m in a lot of pain and discomfort and am very disappointed by the delay in referring me and the overall treatment from my GP

Dear patient we quite agree that there is no excuse for your referral being "overlooked" and sincerely apologise for the delay. I would very much like to look into your case further to see what happened and to make sure it doesn't happen again. If you would be so kind to contact me at the surgery.

Kind regards
