"Very good level of care by all staff members in..."

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

What I liked

I was bitten by an animal abroad and was told by my doctor to visit Luton and Dunstable Hopsitals A&E dept to be treated for prevention of Tetanus and Rabies. I was isolated and then moved up to a ward where I stayed over night.

The staff (Both the Nurses and Doctors) were very friendly and put me at ease throughout my stay. I was very anxious about the possibility of contracting something such as Rabies but felt that they covered every possibility and gave me all the necessary vaccinations and tablets.

Two of the members of staff were originally from the country where I was bitten and shared their personal stories with me about their country, which was comforting as one of them also had to have treatmeant a long time ago for a bite so they knew my anxiety.

I was very pleased with the level of care provided by the hospital and would like to thank them for this.

What could be improved

Despite my satisfaction with the care by staff members at the hospital, different staff members told me different things, which confused me. But I was aware that they very rarely have to deal with a case such as mine and think they did very well overall.
