I hope it's an exceptional case, but I've had very little support and found the person who was dealing with my case being quite incompetent.
I was referred to the Back on Track service by my GP mid-April. Initial contact and assessment interview were made within the first two weeks and the practitioner seemed to be quite experienced and knowledgeable.
However, then there was no follow up from the Service. It's pretty bad in itself, but for someone who had suicidal thoughts as one of the symptoms it might have been fatal...
After the initial interview, I waited for an assessment report for a couple of weeks, had to give them a call to follow up, and again heard nothing back. I've asked my GP to follow up with them, too, at no avail. They clearly had my correct details as I had received the initial online questionnaire fine, so wrong email/ phone number was not an explanation.
I received my interview report in June, which is 6 weeks after the initial assessment!
Unfortunately, the report was a complete mess - ignoring half of the symptoms we discussed and making the insignificant details the center of the situation. For example, the main issue quoted was inability going to gym and to office while in fact they were acute fear of heights with suicidal thoughts, dizziness, interrupted and bad quality sleep, low immunity with multiple infections. Not a word about it in the report!
Then the report stated that I had been emailed a list of emergency contacts - not true, never received it, although was keeping my eyes peeled for it. It also said that I'd not responded to some choices that were offered for my treatment - again, never seen them...
In all honesty, I've been very lucky to have a supportive family who have been helping me all this time, and I also had an option to go for a private treatment.
But I dread a thought of what might be happening to other people who are less lucky...
