"Great treatment in A and E"

About: Wexham Park Hospital / Accident and emergency

Went to A and E at 7pm on a Friday night following a fall on my metal-on-metal hip.

I needed reassurance that my hip had not been damaged.

I was expecting a long wait, but saw the triage nurse within 15 minutes, who took my details, and gave me pain relief.

Soon after that I was moved to the Yellow area, where the staff were welcoming and professional, offering me a pillow to sit on, and water. There was an HCA and a nurse on duty, and I can't fault either of them.

I was concerned because they said the ward was short-staffed, but I was then taken for an x-ray by a very friendly porter.

Soon after my return a doctor said that my x-ray showed no sign of damage ,but I would experience considerable discomfort, and he told me what painkillers to take.

We left the hospital at about 9 pm.

All the staff were courteous and very helpful.
