i developed severe asthma just over 30 years ago,i was in my local hospital for almost 2 months.it came on very quickly and was severe.i was on a massive dose of steroids but soon became unwell again ,i was very close to death my peak flow reading was less than 90.i was moved to the brompton and treated by the professor, taken off all my medication and put on a then new medication via inhaler.inside a month my peak flow improved to 650.i am very grateful to the professor and his team .i still suffer from asthma, which flairs up when i have a chest infection or cold.i am still treated at the brompton which is now a ten hour round trip from where i now live.i am very happy to be treated at the brompton,it is a privilege to be treated there.i am now treated by a different professor, who treated me back in 1987 when he was just a doctor ,albeit a very good one.if you are unlucky enough to suffer from lung disease this is the place to come.in my life this is the best hospital i have been to and cant speak highly of everybody who has helped me
