What I liked

Visited A&E department while on holiday. Staff were pleasant and courteous. Waited 3 hours to see the doctor, however he arranged immediate specialist referral (unfortunately had to then visit Cheltenham for this).

What could be improved

I wondered how well staffed the A&E department is - while I was seen fairly promptly by a triage nurse, nobody was called into the department from the small and not especially busy waiting room by a doctor for 2 hours. While I appreciate that they were probably busy with majors / resus cases if this is a typical turn around time, the department is not going to manage the CQI indicator of seeing 50% attendances within 1 hour of arrival.
