"Nasty Injury 23/03/2018"

About: Cumberland Centre

My daughter who was 13 at the time, fell off her BMX and the handle bar punctured her thigh, it was a very nasty injury and was very frightening for my daughter as well as me and her dad. She was told to wait in a busy waiting room where the receptionist didn't even look up from her computer, my daughter was pale and losing a lot of blood. An Advanced nurse Practitioner walked past her took one look at her and called her in. My daughter was frightened and feeling very sick but was treated by this nurse who unfortunately I have forgotten her name, she was amazing and got her colleague in to help and then stitched her up. The treatment we received from the nursing staff was the best and they treated us with respect and my daughters traumatic experience was made less worrying. AS for the receptionist I know her job is different dealing with issues all day long but eye to eye contact and a bit of warmth wouldn't go amiss in her job role.
