"Unprofessional receptionist"

About: Northwick Park Hospital / Maternity

i have come into the hospital for a routine check up with my pregnant partner. She is 34 weeks and 3 days pregnant and the scan went well, with an excellent scanner.

The baby was fine but the their was slightly less water than there should’ve been. For this reason she was referred to the labour ward.

The doctor and midwife were brilliant for my partner, who suffers with anxiety and agrophobia, so coming in for a referral is an achievement in itself.

The doctor arranged for a fan to help her relax a bit more.

To my disbelief, the receptionist came into the room and very rudely unplugged the fan that the doctor had provided and said she needed it because she felt hot.

I cannot believe this happens and it myself, my partner and my partners sister (who was here as well) couldn’t believe it.

We informed the doctor but the doctor said they couldn’t do anything about it.

It appears that the doctors put the patients first but the receptionists are less inclined to do the same.

I am very sorry to have to write this but this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour from staff who have been given a level of authority and responsibly in creating a calming and soothing environment.
