"Visit to Urology"

I had a 9pm appointment at Guy's Urology to investigate blood in urine and kidney pain. The nurses on the Urology Reception were friendly and professional and ensured a speedy transit through the department. After a urine sample and blood tests and speaking to a consultant about the problem it was off for a flexible cystoscopy. I was provided with an antibiotic tablet and a leaflet explaining the procedure. I have had one before so was not over duly worried about this simple procedure. The nurses attending were fabulous, chatted to put one at ease and ensured one's dignity throughout. The consultant carried out the procedure quickly and painlessly, explaining as she did so what was on the screen. Afterwards I was given advice on drinking plenty of water. I was finished by 11pm.

I would recommend this department, they are busy but the staff are all amazing, helpful and informative and make what could be a traumatic experience into a breeze,
