"NHS 24"

About: Douglas Street Community Health Clinic NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a parent/guardian),

I contacted NHS 24 on Sunday morning for some advice about my son who had chicken pox with some becoming infected.

The call handler Willie was a star. He was caring and compassionate and ensured I was kept informed of everything he was doing.

He was genuine in his communication and was empathetic to a worried mum.

He arranged for the out of hours service to contact me and we were at the OOH clinic 45 mins later.

The staff at the clinic were friendly and thorough.

Overall, a great service and staff deserve a compliment and recognition.

Hi Mumofboys

I hope your son is doing much better. Chickenpox isn't pleasant and I do wish him well.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide complimentary feedback on the service provided by Willie and NHS 24. Your post was a pleasure to read. If you would be kind enough to contact me, then I could identify Willie and pass your thanks directly to him. In any event, as your story is such a heartfelt compliment, I will share this more widely within NHS 24 so that our staff can read this and be reminded of the hugely important role they have in providing a positive patient/caller experience.

I can be contacted on 0141 337 4597 or by email at patientaffairs@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

It is also good to see you have mentioned the care provided by Douglas Street. I am sure they will be equally delighted to read your story.

Thanks again!

Shona
