"Appointment difficult y"

About: Flansham Park Health Centre

I telephoned the surgery to book an appointment hopefully within 7 days. Astonishingly I was told it would be a wait of 5-6 weeks unless I phoned on a day at 8.30am and sit and hope in a queue!

Unfortunately I work and ringing at that time is impossible so incredibly the only other choice is the 5-6 week wait!

Not acceptable under any circumstances!!!

I am sorry to read this comment and perhaps I could explain some of the issues .

It is well documented that General Practice is seeing a huge rise in demand and we are trying various methods to make accessing the surgery easier.

Pre-bookable GP appointments are generally available within a week but specific doctors do have very long routine waits .

Same day appointments are available with GP's,Paramedic Practitioners and Specialist Nurses. These are opened up from 8am every day but demand is high. Anyone who has a medical need will be seen on the day , please be reassured.

Registering for on line services allows you to select appointments while the surgery is closed and you can request a telephone consultation if that suits you.

If you would like to discuss access to appointments, please call our management team who will help clarify the situation for you.
