Hubby had to have both an X-Ray and blood test today, we got at the hospital at approx. 1330 in order to get parked. Ha! There is limited parking for disabled so I dropped him off in front of the main door, tried again and had to give up and park in the top car park and walk back down to find him. I was very concerned as he is not very steady on his feet and is having a very confused day (which he has occasionally). To leave him on his own caused a lot of concern for me as I also know that he could just get lost. What a worry! He had both done but there was no-where for him to stay safely until I had got the car and collected him. He would never have been able to walk to the car park. I basically dumped him in the shade (red hot day) under the trees of the staff car park (which, of course, is opposite the hospital) and hoped that he would still be when I arrived for him. He was and we safely made it home. I don't for one moment resent staff car parking but feel that maybe patients could be given a little bit of consideration (swap the car parks), after all, most patients are quite poorly and struggle to walk that far. The staff are brilliant and always helpful but even they cannot help on this one.
