"Diagnostics - I hope the system can be reviewed"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU)

(as a service user),

I was taken in to hospital to cau in crosshouse and kept in for five hours. Eventually they said I could go home, but I needed to come back the next day for further tests.

I dont have transport and had to make arrangements to travel 20 miles the next day.

I sat in the hospital from 9am until 6 pm, had some blood tests and waited for a scan that never happened. I was sent home without ever having the scan and told I would be sent an appointment. The doctors and nurses were lovely but surely there is some way of knowing if tests can be done the next day or keeping people updated as time is going on

I am older with several health conditions and it was not an easy day for me, to then be sent home and still not have any answers was disappointing.

I hope the system can be reviewed to prevent this type of situation arising again.
