Whilst I waited 8 months too be seen, my situation wasn’t urgent and I could afford the time too wait. My nurse was very helpful and supportive. I explained I didn’t want a service more than being assessed and possible medication. I was assessed quickly, given my bipolar diagnosis and was actively involved in picking which medication I wanted that suited me. I had my dose altered accordingly as I needed and when it was at a good level for me I was discharged from the service - exactly as I had requested. Since this my life has improved dramatically and I no longer have to worry about the mood changes and i am very happy. I got the service I needed and was dealt with dignity and respect throughout and felt empowered that I could make the best choice for me when it came too medication. Thank you for your help and hopefully I won’t be seeing you anytime soon.
