"Customer service training a must"

About: Channel View Surgery

Having had to call to try and get an appointment to see a GP I also already had an appointment for routine blood check. The receptionist had the face of a sour bag of lemons. No good morning, how can I help. Made very little eye contact and came across as aggressive in her manner and body language. I asked while I was there was it possible for a GP to see me, her answer was No they make their own appointments. With that a receptionist who is experienced and polite took over. Do these people not realize that if they are the front line of the NHS it is not a positive face to show to the people. It did upset me as I feel unwell and really did not expect to be spoken to like an idiot.

We are really sorry that our service to you was not of the high standard we strive for.

As your feedback was anonymous, I have no way of tracking which day this incident occurred and, therefore, cannot determine which Receptionist you are referring to.

I have spoken to the Reception team as a whole and told them how disappointed I was to receive your feedback and that this is totally unacceptable.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me direct.

Susan Hedley (Mrs)

Practice Manager
