I feel all too often we complain when things aren't done right. But i feel it equally important to tell people when things are done well.
I was admitted to cau recently as my mental health has been really bad. I'd been engaging with home based treatment but found it very unhelpful and not enough to keep me safe.
I've felt very low and suicidal and I have been doing dangerous things and between myself and HBT we decided a short admission to CAU would be a good idea. I don't like the idea of having to go in hospital but I decided this would be the best option for me for a short time.
The staff on this unit are so kind and friendly. They go out if their way to speak to you. The unit was very busy but they tried their best to spend time with me despite lots of demand on their time.
Katie spent a great amount of time with me working on a crisis plan that will be much easier for me to use than one with lots of writing. Katie picked up that I'm a creative person and altered her approach to create the crisis plan. I'm very grateful for the time she spent with me. A number of other staff also spent time talking to me about my crisis and looking at what they could do to help.
I overheard staff speaking to another patient and I was very moved by how kind, dedicated and patient they were.
In conclusion I would just like to say thank you to the staff for helping me get back on my feet a bit and giving me a bit more hope for the future. I'm very grateful.
