"The nurses got me to talk openly about my surgery"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

Having had several operations in the past I was sumwhat very nervous prior to this operation. On the morning of the admittance the room was full and I had arrived early as it was an AM appointment. Was pleasantly surprised how fast and efficient the staff were in placing a large no of people so efficiently that soon we were all settled and the wait and quietness began.

Staff began to appear and all necessary checks were taken and when fully prepared to the stage prior to my visit with the surgical staff I again relaxed until I awoke then recovered and was allowed to return home.

Walking to the theatre I thought whoever suggested this as a means to getting there must be a genius as as I was walking and talking I was not lying on a bed thinking about where I was going to. which brings me onto the way the nurses had a way of being able get me to talk quite openly about my surgery. They made me feel SAFE.

The whole experience was very professional and caring without the need for to much fuss. Well done staff from a very happy and satisfied patient. Queen Margaret hospital Dunfermline. Mr Yalamarti and day care staff. Thanks
