About: Broomfield Hospital

I have a very coloured medical history mainly over the past 9 years an various hospitals in the South east. This includes major heart surgery Most very good followed shortly there after a heart transplant and a number of failings that have caused me to undergo further heart surgery because of mistake damaged the new heart. Add to this side effects of drugs adds osteoporosis, compression fracture of the spin ( x2) bowans disease ( a form of skin cancer ), kidney failing and so the list goes but the important thing is fear of hospital, now identified as suffering from PTSD.Alot of my appointments are 6 monthly so about 12 hospital routines each year. Because of my problems my wife ( full time carer)contacts the appointments line to ensure where possible that I get the first or one of either morning or afternoon. This has worked fine untill the recent 12 months . We NO LONGER get advance notice of an appointment ,My wife has a list of when I have been asked to attend and its never followed up by the hospital admin staff. we have to phone the appropriate department who can no longer make appointment s, Appointments line does not get answered for most of the day. When you try the e mail address, no notice is taken the points you have requested of your situation, so you have to try and make contact with the appointments line so the circle continues. To day I had an appointment booked for 9.10am .After almost an hour my wife spoke to the nurse to find out that they didn't even have my paperwork . I have attended this clinic at least 3 times in the last 15 months. We then find out that I have been listed as "First time appointment". Once you get past the administration department the service is great and I am now on the list to have the growth remove from my eye lid soon.I have been told by the heart specialist at

Papworth very important that these growths as soon as possible, as I have a suppressed immune system. Now one appointment has past my wife will now start on the appointments for the neurologist, dermatologist, Dexa scan .etc all of which are due in the next months, but if we don't chase it we don't get an appointment
