"Double mastectomy and reconstruction"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital / Plastic surgery

I was in addenbrooks hospital from the 10th of may I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. After my procedure I was put into recovery then in ward L5. I have been to hospital twice whilst having my children and was really worried about the care I would receive here but I have to say I don't believe I could of been better cared for anywhere else, my surgeons have been amazing...all staff involved in my operation were lovely. The staff in L5 have gone beyond to make me comfortable and listen to me. Having a double mastectomy and reconstruction at 26 years of age has been a hard experience but I strongly believe I wouldn't of got through it had I not had the amazing care and support of the staff at this hospital, I will always greatful especially to three members of staff.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you received kind and supportive care after you had your operation.

You kind words will be passed to the staff and will be much appreciated.

We hope you are recovering well.
