"First Class Service From The Rheumatology..."

I recently had an appointment at rheumatology within Bolton One and I was extremely impressed with the standard of care I received. Within seconds of arriving on the 1st floor my name was called by a pleasant lady to check my weight, height and blood pressure and no sooner had I sat down I was called in to see the doctor. He was very pleasant and put me at ease right away, for once I didn’t feel judged on my mental health diagnosis (BPD) as he carefully listened to my symptoms before doing an examination. I have been experiencing pain for over 10 years which has got worst this last 5 years, but I feel my GP’s have just dismissed my weight as being the cause (despite a massive weight loss, the pain has increased!) I felt confident in what was being said and was happy with the outcome of the appointment, blood tests – done there and then, a referral for physio and an MRI scan. I feel I may finally have an answer to what has been causing my pain for so long! An excellent service with staff working in the department who are a credit to the NHS.
