"Friendly, helpful and professional."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

I recently attended Queen's Ward for a procedure. All the staff were friendly and behaved efficiently and professionally. Thank you to all involved.

What could be improved

This is a general comment: It doesn't seem to matter which NHS hospital/facility I visit, the first person that I am greeted by is a receptionist who, no matter how nice and helpful s/he is, is always half hidden by a pile of files. This immediately gives an impression of disorganisation and clutter, whether it is the case or not. Even if the person is working on the files, could something be done to 'sideline' them a bit?

Thank you.

This is a very interesting perspective and one that we will ensure is fed back to our teams, both in outpatient and day case facilities. While longer-term, fully electronic patient records will resolve the issue, that doesn't sort them now. We'll see what can be done. In the meantime, many thanks for getting in touch and we're pleased to read how well your procedure went at the QEII.
