I attended Max Fax at the Royal Surrey last Sunday with a minor nose laceration and wanted to say how grateful I was to the staff at the unit. The doctor in particular gave a wonderful service in spite of an obviously difficult and demanding caseload.
This doctor was thorough in her explanations without being overly technical or patronising. I was a very minor part of her difficult day, but was not made to feel like a nuisance and was treated with dignity and good humour throughout. The term “good bedside manner” has become a cliche, but it is so important in the work that the NHS does. The doctor and the team, right through from reception staff, triage and nursing staff exemplify the amazing hard work, spirit and care that we must not take for granted.
Thank you to all concerned.
