Anything else?
We would not want any other member of our family or friends to be admitted to Lings Bar. Although the care staff work to their best ability the staff patient ratio is way too low. Medical decisions also seem questionable.
Rehabilitation seems to take the form of not letting patients do anything for themselves, litigation being the only reason the family can see for such attitudes.
The family were told in the middle of a busy corridor that dementia had been diagnosed. We were also told in the middle of a busy corridor by a nurse that a decision had been made that CPR would not be carried out on the patient should it become necessary, and that we could speak to the doctor regarding this if we wished.
The patient was left for 3 weeks clearly getting more distressed and ill before being moved back to a hospital, which eventually put into question the dementia diagnosis.
The patient’s dignity and basic expectations were not upheld whilst in the care of the medical staff at Lings Bar, something the person in question both earned and deserved.
"Absolutely appalling"
