"ANP Emergency Appointment"

I recently contacted the surgery for a emergency appointment for my 10 year old son.

A nurse rang back very quickly and an appointment was made to see a ANP within approximately 1 hour.

My son was seen be an ANP who had obvious paediatric experience.

All I can say is that this nurse was fantastic with my son she was also made aware he has autism.

The nurse did a very thorough examination and at each step explained exactly what was going to happen, showed each piece of equipment and took the appointment at his speed which is so important to my son.

Also at each stage the results where discussed.

It was found that from the flu he had a chest infection and his oxygen levels (SATS) where extremely low.

Oxygen was then provided by the nurse immediately again explaining at each stage and a decision was made that my son needed to be admitted into hospital.

The nurse made all the arrangements for the admission whilst constantly monitoring my son.

It was explained to us each step that would happen from the ambulance to the children’s ward.

All can say to this nurse is thank you as I felt she went above and beyond for a poorly little boy and she is a credit to her profession and to the surgery.
