"Children's A&E department same Dr on two..."

About: Whiston Hospital / Accident and emergency

I've have had to take my children to the a&e department at Whiston several times but the last two occasions for my two young children we saw the same useless Dr that I felt has no idea in pediatric care or good knowledge. Both occasions she told me my children were fine nothing to worry about and not to go back take them to the GP next time !! Recently the last time she did this my son was covered head to toe in a red rash that looked more than a viral rash it was blanching in some place but not in other areas which raised my concern and I took him to the children a&e department she said because he was talking away fine and seemed happy he was ok she wasn't sure what it was but said he didn't need to be at the hospital.

My child had been complaining of stomach pain chest pain and had a fever yet to her he was fine. I was so upset that I felt I was being fobbed off again so I said I wanted to see another Dr please and my son to be fully examined. As you can imagine I was in floods of tears the triage team were understanding and asked for another Dr to come and re-see my son which a male Dr came fully examined him and said the rash was much worse looking than a regular viral rash and looked aggressive but he informed me that the more aggressive the rash it means its fighting off infection.

Anyway, I brought my son home after seeing the other Dr but throughout the evening I have been upset with how this Dr the first was towards myself and my children on separate occasions.

Other than this matter I have found the rest of the department pleasant and very helpful.
