What could be improved
my mum was admitted to this hospital via a&e because she was screaming in pain from an ulcer in her bowel and could no longer bare the pain. We took her to the hospital on a thursday night after she almost collapsed in agony, the staff in the a&e department done a full examination and were very concerened with what they had seen and so npromised her they would do everything possible to get her hom pain free. The following day a surgeon came to speak to my mum who said that they were planning to take her down for an investigation that day but were worried that it may not be until later and would prefer her to have something to eat and take her down the following morning. Next morning the surgeon came back to speak to my mum and said there was no way she was going to be taken down beacause it was "a weekend" and "they only deal with life or death situations on a weekend" Through all the pain and dissapointment this then brought my mum to tears as she explained that she could no longer take this agony, the surgeon then offered anit-depressants as she "seemed anxious". My mum was then advised to go home with very strong pain killers and go back to a&e if the pain was very strong again even though she could barely stand. The care from the staff at this hospital is absolutely appaling and should not be given the name of a hospital. I can not bare to see my mum go through this pain every night of her life for any longer and would welcome any advice on what to do next as we are all at breaking point
