"Family member with schizophrenia"

About: Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust / Older people's mental health

(as a relative),

A family member is in the grips again of a schizophrenic episode. At 72 and with diabetes, contact has been made with her GP and the 'crisis' team who discharged her years ago.

What exactly is the reason that mental health services (locally) seem to be so poor for my aunt?!

Is there a lack of staff? Or lack of funds or both?!

The 'service' is not fit for purpose in this circumstance. There is a failure to safeguard a vulnerable elderly lady who has a history of being a risk to herself.

I feel that it will take her to die before realises how ill see really is and then it will be too late.
