"Osteomalacia"

I have recently been diagnosed with osteomalacia (soft bones) having broken both hips, knees and one ankle without having had any accidents.

My consultant has been brilliant, firstly by finding this apparently rare disease and then by following up on it. He ensured that I stayed in as a patient at The Royal Sussex Hospital until fully diagnosed and started the treatment immediately. Whilst he has explained what the causes are and what the treatment regime would be I would be grateful to hear from anyone else who has had this condition to see how they have got through it.
