About: Queen's Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

I was treated in Amber A ward for broken ankle on 11april. They asked me to come at 7 am and stopped eating or drinking from midnight. Which I did. The nurse had no idea about what time my surgery was going to be and even the consultant wasn't sure about this too. I asked him about the discharge and he said that they would discharge me straightaway. They eventually took me in at 5pm and did not allow to eat or sink anything . When I went in the theaters the surgeon said I was allowed to at least drink something. They put me on fluids to avoid dehydration. After the surgery, they took me to amber A ward and the nurse was lovely. But the nurse who came in the morning just ignored me. She Was moaning about me with her colleague next to me which was very unprofessional. She was very nice to the lady opposite me and explained everything to her but was not bothered about me. The consultant came and told me to go home. I said that I had been throwing up and feel very dizzy to which he did not take any notice . When the physio came and he tried to make me walk on crutches I was very dizzy and unwell. He told the nurse about it and said I was not gonna be discharged as I was unwell. Later, I asked th nurse for the bed pen and she refused and asked me to goto toileti the fact the physio told her clearly not to. When I insisted she provided me with oned o somewhere.

Keep n calling her to take the pen away from me but nobody came for 10 minutes and left mem lying there holding it by myself. Then the HCA came. I was discharged without any explanation about surgery or after care. I was not even told that I was supper to elevate my foot to reduce swelling. I learnt it on internet. Then I saw the same consultants in two weeks time which was a waste of time as he rushed me and did not explain anything and when i asked questions he was not pleased. I still don't know what to expect and have so many questions that are unanswered. I tried pals and there phone just ring to no answer. I have left a message to contact me because I don't want to see this consultant again.
