"Praise for Thomas Linacre Outpatient Centre"

About: Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I went to Thomas Linacre Outpatient Centre for my bloods done. I have also had an xray and ultrasound done here. Both were done well and I didn't have to wait long.

I prefer coming here instead of going to Wigan infirmary. The Thomas Linacre Centre is a lot smaller, which I like, and in my opinion it is cleaner. The women on the desk at TLC are always nice and I also think it has better surroundings (Wigan Infirmary is an old-fashioned building) as you can go and get a drink from the cafe whilst you wait. This makes the whole experience more relaxing.

I can't talk very fast but I feel like the staff at TLC listen to me more and are more courteous than in the other hospitals I have been in.

My only criticism is the car parking charges, I think they should be £3.00.

Thank you very much for your positive comments regarding our outpatient services at Thomas Linacre Centre and it was pleasing to hear that your experiences there have all been good, particularly with regard to the reception staff and that you feel listened to.

I am sorry that you are less keen on visiting the Infirmary although it may be helpful to let you know that there is now a WRVS cafe just by the main entrance to the Infirmary where you can buy hot and cold drinks, warm snack and sanwiches and other refreshments. We hope that this will now make our patients and visitors feel more welcome and comfortable. Unfortunately, as you say, some of the buildings are older although these are kept to the same standard of cleanliness as other parts of the Trust buildings.

I regret that the car parking charges are fixed and there is no scope for change to this.
