I was lucky enough to be referred to SOTC from North London for keyhole surgery to correct a halux valgus (bunion) on my right foot.
From my first consultation with the surgeon my treatment was extremely efficient - I couldn't believe how punctually my appointment was completed being used to long waits in London hospitals.
The anaesthetists were particularly charming and attentive throughout the procedure and having elected to have regional rather than general anaesthetic I was ready for discharge in a couple of hours.
As soon as I was in the recovery area I was given a sandwich and cup of coffee by the lovely nursing staff.
I am currently five weeks post op and fully weight bearing having had my dressing removed two weeks ago.
I experienced a little discomfort for the first couple of days but nothing like the prolonged agony I had feared!
Looking forward to seeing the surgeon in two weeks and have an X ray to see the result.
