Please refer the following comments to the management at Guernsey House, Sheffield.

I would like to say a big thank you to Phil and Dr Jackson for their tireless support. I had numerous counselling sessions with Phil which proved crucial in my recovery. I found their approach to treatment highly effective:

a) Understanding and kind patience.

b) Practical advice on reduction and eventually abstinence from methadone (advice on exercise, nutrition, change of lifestyle etc.)

c) Encouragement and most importantly empowerment.

Needless to say without their support my recovery would not have been possible.

It's wonderful to hear that Phil and Dr Jackson have been able to empower you and support you through your treatment journey. All of the postings about Guernsey House are discussed at our monthly whole team meetings so that staff can hear what our clients think works well and not so well. Whilst it is important that we improve in some areas, it's also vital that our staff feel valued when they provide good service so thank you for taking the time to post and to state so clearly the treatment methods that worked for you.
