Arrived at 7.30 on Thurs eve with my 4 year old who had crushed her hand. Amazing nurse in paediatric A and E saw her, referred her for x-ray and organised for the consultant to see her. By 10.30 she was in theatre having her fingers operated on.I genuinely think that this saved her fingers, it wasn't pretty.
The care she received from all of the team was outstanding, a nurse on Polkerris ward talked us through the op and there were numerous other professionals who spoke to us about her treatment and the prognosis. Unfortunately in my emotional state I didn't take in their names but every member of staff that we saw was courteous, professional and only had our daughters best interests at heart. We stayed overnight and the ward staff on Polkerris continued this excellent work as did the staff at the fracture clinic, which we are still visiting. I really want to say thank you to everyone involved and express my support for the RCH which doesn't get the best press but in my experience has been nothing short of brilliant.
"Amazing"
